Two St. Vincent Healthcare nurse practitioners, Jordan Teller and Alana Barber, have both become board certified in advanced diabetes management through the American Association of Diabetes Educators.

A core value at St. Vincent Healthcare is to set and surpass high standards, according to Angela Douglas, communications specialist at St. Vincent Healthcare. Teller and Barber have demonstrated their commitment to excel by completing a rigorous board certification process to become advanced diabetes managers.

The pair will manage complex patient needs and assist patients with their diabetes management through extensive understanding of diabetes complications, prevention strategies, and cutting-edge treatment options.

So far this year, only 53 candidates have passed the exam nationwide, according to Douglas. Barber and Teller are the only board-certified advanced diabetes management certified nurse practitioners in Billings.

“It is all part of our effort to make our SVH Diabetes Center a center of excellence in diabetes care,” said Teller. “We are passionate about providing the best care to our patients.”
