Hungry People in Billings Need to Stop Making Excuses [Opinion]
A recent meeting at the library was held to determine why people are struggling to feed themselves and their children.
The reasons they came up with all sound like excuses to me: Low wages, cost of food, high rent, fuel prices, unable to find work and health care costs. I'm a believer that people control their own destiny and their own decisions and personal choices are more of a factor than society not providing for them.
I'm sick of the excuses when they have all the opportunity -- and more than most in this world. We've made it too easy for them not to be accountable for themselves.
Everyone was able to eat in 40s and 50s without Big Brother telling them they deserve what others have. If you cant make it here you wont make it anywhere no matter how much you think you deserve.
