I moved to Montana in 1979 from Cincinnati, Ohio. I started doing play-by-play in 1982 in Billings. I began working at my current job in December 1985 and have never left. I have been on Cat Country mornings since the show started in March 1988. In addition to my on-air job, I own and operate a wheat and cattle ranch north of Billings. I am most proud of my four children.
Drivers Needed. Lift CDL Requirement and Let Farmers Fill In.
Just this week, we heard the story of a snow plow driver shortage. Montana is trying to hire close to 100 drivers to clear the roads and we sure could use them now . One problem is that job requires a CDL license. I don't know why, when it is a different class truck than a semi. In fact farmers in the state are exempt from having a CDL if they are driving their own truck.

My Darn Back! I Have Questions About Chiropractic Care
Over the last couple of years, an old four-wheeler injury is starting to act up. I crashed at 35mph and really took a tumble. It compressed things in my back so much that now I think I need alignment.
Sad to See. Fertile Farmland, Now Paved Over in Billings
Dozens of new subdivisions with hundreds of new homes. Many new businesses have popped up, warehouses, storage facilities, etc. I couldn't believe it. I remembered what it once looked like out there and it's kind of sad really. This is the most fertile productive land in the valley and it's being consumed by progress and city growth.
Beautiful Montana Celebrates A Birthday Today. I am Grateful
As we get older not many of us are excited to see birthdays come around. One birthday that I will forever be thankful for is Montana's. Today Nov 8th back in 1889 the most beautiful state in the country, as far as I'm concerned, was born.
Air Travel Unpredictable. Flying or Driving This Thanksgiving?
For most of those trips that would mean about 800 miles. You can make it to Seattle in one day. If you are heading east Fargo or Sioux Falls can be made. Denver is an easy one-day trip or Boise even Salt lake can be made in one day. Other than that for short trips you have to fly.
Billings Backs BPD In Election, Setback for “Defund The Police”
What a huge election day yesterday. The safety levy in Billings was a strong message that the national effort to abolish police departments will not be tolerated. Even though it will cost Billings homeowners an extra $100 for a two hundred thousand dollar home they overwhelmingly back the blue.
Should YSC Run Metra Park, or Should it be Private?
This thing about Metra park being run by a private company has everyone in a tizzy. Not me. It's a No brainer if you are as consistent and true to your beliefs as I always am. I don't really care which way they go.
Eliminating Gifted Programs In Schools Is Wrong Thing To Do
Another move today by the liberals of this country will have residual results on our educational system for years to come. In an AP story today it was announced that New York mayor Bill DE Blasio is ending the gifted and talented academic programs in New York schools because they promote segregation.
