Tommy is a chimpanzee living in a tiny cage at an upstate New York trailer park.  The Nonhuman Rights Project argued before the New York Supreme Court that the chimp is a "legal person" entitled to basic human protections, including freedom from captivity. Finally! Changing laws governing the size of primate cages isn’t enough. Political correctness attempts to redefine species. Science, be-damned! Our feelings and judicial mandate will define gender and species. I’m coming out as a trans-species being. I believe I’m a Labrador retriever and demand my rights of a daily brushing and jumping on the couch whenever I want.  The solidarity of political correctness also demands improving the image other maligned species. Rats are now  “misunderstood Uber-hamsters.” Snakes are “non-ambulatory reptiles.” I’m Rover, formerly the human, E. Curtis Johnson. Oh, one more right: no “snip snip” on me followed by wearing “the cone of shame.”
