America sits on the eve of two major calendar events: Halloween and midterm Elections. The similarities between the two days are as horrifying as the thought of another “Twilight” sequel, but I digress. For example, throngs of people ring your doorbell and threaten that bad things will happen if you don’t do what they want. Does this describe the political rhetoric of door-to-door campaign workers or children shouting, “trick or treat?” You wake up the next morning, sick to your stomach with a headache and regret for what you did the night before. Is this the after effects of eating all the leftover Halloween candy or voter’s remorse? Let’s not forget, the dead rise! Is this a classic plot to a Halloween movie or Democrat voters in Chicago? Finally, people too old to be asking for handouts from the public. Is this a description of the teenagers who inevitably end up at your door or the typical U.S. Senator desperately holding onto his seat of office? I’m E. Curtis Johnson. Whether it’s Halloween of Election Day, there’s plenty of terror for everyone!
