The Odessa American reports that a 9-year-old boy was suspended for making a terroristic threat. Jason Steward’s family saw, “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.” Steward’s son went to school and told a friend his magic ring could make the other boy disappear. And there’s the terroristic threat. According to Jason Steward, the school’s principle, Roxanne Greer, said, “Threats to another child’s safety would not be tolerated – whether magical or not.” Jason Steward replied, “I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence. If he did, I’m sure he’d bring him right back.” Zero common sense frequently accompanies zero tolerance. I’m E. Curtis Johnson. Fortunately, young master Steward didn’t threaten classmates with another dangerous substance banned from many schools: sugary snacks. This happened in Texas. I’d hate to see a 9-year-old on death row. If the threatened boy’s parents are equally gullible, my Nigerian cousin wants to give them some money.
