I’m surprised the story of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, falling asleep during the last State of the Union Address, is back in the news. Several news outlets reported what happened after Ginsburg explained her actions simply and honestly. The Supreme Court had a meal before The President’s address, Justice Kennedy brought a good bottle of wine to go with the meal, and Ginsburg nodded off afterward. It’s hardly news that an 81-year-old person would get sleepy after a meal. I couldn’t care less that Ginsburg fell asleep during The President’s remarks. I am disappointed partisan media didn’t have a field day. MSNBC didn’t claim, “Conservative judge plies female co-worker with alcohol.”  Fox News didn’t scream, “Liberal judge confuses law bar with dive bar.” I’m E. Curtis Johnson. Most state of the union addresses from the past 20-years have been political sales pitches. I’m surprised half the country isn’t thoroughly plowed, plastered, and pickled before, during, and after most SOTU’s!
