Washington is the evergreen state, but growers of green aren’t making enough greenbacks.  A marijuana shortage last summer drove pot prices higher than pot smokers, and drove chronic customers to cheaper, untaxed, black market marijuana. Now the marijuana market is flooded and legal distributors are rolling joints but aren’t rolling in the dough. The stoners appear to be running the store in Washington State. In the rocky mountain high State of Colorado, bureaucrats and MBA’s are in control. Pardon the pun, but Colorado’s marijuana laws keep a lid on pot production, which keeps demand higher than supply. I’m E. Curtis Johnson. I’ve seen dopers who were too stoned too open a bag of Dorritos! No wonder potheads in Washington State couldn’t open a marijuana market that anticipated supply and demand’s affect on profit and loss. Translation for my doper friends: Dude! A marijuana business is more complicated than sifting seeds out of buds in the fold of a Pink Floyd album cover in your Mom’s basement.
