According to Yahoo.com, the top ten news stories in 2014 were Obamacare, NFL domestic violence, ISIS, Jodi Arias, Ferguson Missouri, Malaysia Airlines disappearance, and leaked racy celebrity photos.  The midterm elections, Robin William’s death, and Ebola, complete the top three.  Obamacare affects every American, but was at the bottom of the list. Ebola very affected few Americans, but was number one. Americans searched for more information on leaked nude photos of self absorbed, selfie-taking celebrities, than domestic violence in the NFL or racial tension in Ferguson. The death of one man, Robin Williams, attracted more attention than the death of 298 people on Malaysian Airlines flight MH370. Jodi Arias murdered one person and attracted more attention than the more than 2000 people believed murdered by ISIS. Draw your own conclusions about whether these peculiarities mean anything. I’m E. Curtis Johnson. I find it ironic, that the weird and sad tale of radio countdown king, Casey Casem, didn’t make this top ten countdown.
