Do you remember the game show, “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” The Affordable Care Act is playing a spinoff called, “Are You Smarter Than A 20-something?” The government is losing the game.  So far, the Affordable Care Act has failed to attract its most import factor: healthy young people.

Fining this demographic for not being insured won’t motivate this group. Trust me; I have three sons this age. If I said, “Unless you buy health insurance, your Mom and I will move into your house when we retire and you’ll have to change our diapers”, it still wouldn’t motivate this age group. They think they’re invincible, that they’ll live forever and that the future is next week. 20-somethings are motivated by incentives.

I’m E. Curtis Johnson. To motivate young males to buy insurance the government should offer free video games, free video games or free video games. Young women would be motivated to purchase insurance if the ACA offered coverage for young men with video game addiction.
