The New B-Word – Opinions From E. Curtis Johnson

As a white, heterosexual male, I accepted long ago that I’m personally responsible for all the evil that exits in the world.  Just when I thought male redemption may be possible, Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook, launches a public service campaign, called, “Ban Bossy.”

Sandberg told Yahoo News she thinks that “bossy” is worse than the other b-word because “bossy” stereotypes girls. She wants “bossy” banned from our vocabulary.

According to Sandberg, girls are told they’re bossy, but boys are told they’re leaders, which ultimately translates into job inequality. Instead of being told they’re bossy, Sandberg believes girls should be told they have executive leadership skills. I’m for job equality. I’m against political correctness and banning thoughts and words.
