Are we too reliant on unreliable power like wind and solar? Here's the full audio of our conversation with Ryan Hall from the Montana Electric Cooperative's Association.
Take that snowbirds! I got a great note from one of our listeners in Orlando, Florida. He always likes to rub it in to those of us back here in Montana about how great the weather is in Orlando. On Tuesday he messaged me, "Billings will be warmer than Orlando!"
With low humidity, dry conditions, and gusty winds expected Saturday (9/26), the National Weather Service is warning of "critical fire weather conditions" tomorrow for Billings.
Again today, dry thunderstorms and gusty winds are the enemies for the Bozeman area and many counties in Montana. Fire danger is quite high in some areas.
A soggy weather system will bring rain and possibly thunderstorms into Billings through Friday (6/19), but it will be return of winter in the higher elevations.
After temperatures hit the 50's on Saturday, a dramatic drop of up to 30 degrees will happen in 24 hours as a winter weather front brings icy roads to the area on Sunday.
