On a sunsplashed afternoon in Missoula, officials from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, the City and County of Missoula met together at what is now officially the Beartracks Bridge for a long-awaited dedication ceremony.
New Missoula Mayor Jordan Hess made his debut appearance on Friday’s KGVO City Talk program and immediately began answering questions from Talk Back listeners.
In a dramatic final vote that occurred at 11:15 p.m. on Monday night, Mike Nugent nobly stepped aside after several locked votes and Jordan Hess was elected by the Missoula City Council to be Missoula’s mayor until the next election.
The process to replace the late Mayor John Engen is moving along to the point where there are now six individuals vying for the seat that will be chosen by the City Council as a whole.
The City of Missoula Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Public Works and Mobility Department, will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 25 at 9:30 a.m.
