In NBC’s, “Revolution, ” the world ends when all electricity is shut off. I’m addicted to the show. Some say American’s are addicted to oil. The world needs energy. Oil is only one factor in the equation. In a recent ABC/Washington Post poll, 65% of Americans favor the Keystone pipeline that would bring oil from Canada to Texas.

Automobiles were a game changer that replaced horses in a couple of decades. There’s no immediate game changer in America’s energy pipeline. Until we can recharge an electric car, as easily as we can refill a tank, we need oil. If fossil fuel opponents want to eliminate the need for oil, then create a viable energy replacement strategy that won’t empty our tanks before the replacement energy arrives.

I’m E. Curtis Johnson. “Revolution” is a pretend drama about the end civilization. Cutting off old energy supplies before new energy supplies arrive, is the start of the real end of civilization.
