Scratch That Itch! – Opinions From E. Curtis Johnson

According to Yahoo News, last July, a woman in Indiana drove off three burglars with a Guitar Hero video controller. Apparently video games are good for something.  On Monday in Indiana, 63-year-old Patty Kearney prevented a burglar, who had a large wrench, from robbing and assaulting she and her husband. Kearny beat the burglar with a large wooden back scratcher.

Kearney is on oxygen and has “…COPD, cancer - lung cancer…and I said not in my house, not in my house and I boom, boom, boom…and kept on hitting him and until he dropped the wrench. And I just hit him in the head, hit him in the head, hit him in the head until he got right there and ran out the door.” Kearny says, ”…if he hadn’t got out that back door, I’d a beat him to death and I know I would have because I was that mad…” There’s something ironic about a lug nut burglar using a wrench. It’s important to use the right tool – on the right tool!
