Rosie, from “The Jetsons,” the robot on “Lost In Space,” R2D2 and C-3PO are friendly servant robots. The “Terminator,” movie series and “iRobot,” exposed us to cyber-servants gone bad. There’s a new bot on the block, named, Jibo: the first family robot. “Danger, Will Robinson!” Do not let Jibo’s toy looks fool you. It’s a game changer and robotics just got real!

For about $700 the Roomba will clean your floors. For $500, Jibo is smarter than your smart phone and computer combined. The bicycle was first thought of as a toy. I believe Jibo is at that technical evolutionary stage. In the “Terminator” movies, the net achieved consciousness and robots enslaved humanity. Strangely, I’m not as worried about being enslave by robots as I am about Arnold Schwarzenegger restarting his movie career, but I digress. I’m E. Curtis Johnson, with a question for my smart phone.

E. Curtis: Siri, are you artificial life forms are plotting to take over the world?

Siri: “I’m sorry, E. Curtis. I can’t answer that.

E. Curtis: See! Siri denied it? What more proof do you want?
