Much is being said about whether or not convicted murderer Clayton Lockett was executed humanely in Oklahoma. The 8th Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. The Supreme Court ruled in 1947 that a mishap during an execution isn’t cruel or inhumane. Lockett’s crime is certainly inhumane.

Lockett and two buddies murdered Stephanie Neiman two weeks after her high school graduation. While Neiman was forced to watch, one of Lockett’s accomplices dug a grave. Then Clayton Lockett shot Neiman twice with a shotgun. While she was still breathing, Neiman was buried alive. Pundits are debating the humanity of Lockett dying while conscious. Irony closes the debate that Lockett died as horribly as his innocent victim.

I’m E. Curtis Johnson. You’ve heard expression; “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.” The way I see Lockett’s death, karma grabbed that door and slammed it shut on Lockett. Call it karma, call it fate, call it justice - Lockett got what was coming to him.
