Goodie Goal Posts [OPINION]

The NFL conference championships are behind us and football fans are focusing on the Super Bowl XLVIII. Authentic Super Bowl parties have a snack stadium.  You’ve seen them; food arranged to look like football stadiums. This week I was in a serious conversation about whether snack stadiums are manly.

Snack stadiums are most certainly manly! What’s manlier something that combines unhealthy food, construction and football? 

As a side dish, pop, rock and country singers usually perform the national anthem at Super Bowls.This year, Renee Flemming, a four-time Grammy Award winning opera singer will perform.

Since Flemming is an opera singer, I think she should perform wearing opera attire from Wagner’s, “Ride of the Valkyries.” You know the look; sword, metal bra, and Norse helmet with huge cow horns protruding from the side. If Flemming sang the national anthem in this attire, it would be the first time anyone ever received applause after a performance at a Super Bowl while wearing a Viking uniform.
