On Tuesday, a mother in St. Lucie Florida was charged with child neglect for letting her son go to the park unaccompanied. Also on Tuesday, ABC News reported that North Korea has operated an international kids summer camp for 30 years. That’s a fact, no joke. Send an unaccompanied minor to the United States from El Salvador, Honduras, or Guatemala and many will argue that the parents should be pitied and the kid should get refugee status. Send an unaccompanied minor to the park in St. Lucie, Florida and the parent is arrested and charged with neglect. To the best of my knowledge, it is perfectly legal for Americans to send children to the summer camp in North Korea.

I’m E. Curtis Johnson.  Did political correctness just rule its a crime to send an unaccompanied child to a park in Florida, but it isn’t a crime to send your unaccompanied child to a kid’s summer camp in North Korea or a trek through the Mexican dessert with a human trafficker? That’s a rhetorical question; please don’t say anything because I’m afraid of the answer.
