Billings Woman Arrested After House Fire
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A Billings woman who called 911 to report she set her house on fire has been arrested on suspicion of arson.
Firefighters responded to the woman's house just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and could see smoke and flames coming out of the windows. They extinguished the fire within an hour. No one was injured.
Police say a neighbor was first to call 911 and then the occupant of what police called a "dilapidated" structure called to say she set the fire with a propellant.
Police identified the caller as an Hispanic woman in her late 40s. She was arrested and taken to the jail for questioning.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday, 46-year-old Hermalinda Marie Ramirez was listed on the jail roster after having been arrested on suspicion of arson and several other charges.
