If we traveled on Thanksgiving Day we’d expect airlines, trains, and gas stations to be open with cheerful employees to meet our needs. If we forgot an important ingredient for Thanksgiving dinner, we’d want stores to sell us what we wanted. Thanksgiving Day parades and  football games are tasty treats. Do those watching these Thanksgiving traditions realize that it takes hundreds of people working on Thanksgiving to provide these events and broadcasts? Some people say, “stuff it” to retailers requiring their employees to work Thanksgiving Day. Do these people - with their giblets in a wad, realize some of their Thanksgiving traditions require people to work rather than being with their families?  Here’s the argument against retail stores operating on Thanksgiving. Based on our needs and moral compass, we can enjoy activities that require people to work on Thanksgiving. However, a retailer has no right to make decisions about employees working on Thanksgiving based on its needs.
