It’s August in Russia. That means winter starts in about three hours. Both Napoleon’s and Hitler’s armies starved in the Russian winter. In the latest version of the Cold War, Vladimir Putin will defeat western sanctions by making life more miserable for - his own people in the upcoming winter.

Vladimir Putin has retaliated against western sanctions by – banning most food imported from the west. The Russians won’t starve, but since most of Russia’s food is imported, many analysts predict shortages and inflation for the Russian people. Maybe Putin’s just nostalgic for the old U.S.S.R.? Or maybe Putin doesn’t realize that if you cut your nose off to spite your face, you can’t eat your nose. If revenge is truly a dish served cold, Putin retaliates to a slap in the face by kicking himself in the crotch. My name is E. Curtis Johnson. Oh – and as if not buying our food doesn’t hurt us enough, Putin just told Edward Snowden he can live in Russia for another three years. Oh, the inhumanity! How much can we possible take?
