The Montana Diabetes Educators Network each year honors a diabetes educator who has made a special contribution to the field through dedication, innovation and sensitivity in patient care.

This year, Jane Fitch Danielsen, a longtime St. Vincent Healthcare associate, received the coveted award. Fitch Danielsen is the St. Vincent Healthcare Diabetes Center Coordinator and is a certified diabetes educator, according to a news releases from St. Vincent Healthcare.

“Jane has worked very hard throughout her career to make the St. Vincent Healthcare Diabetes Center a top-notch center in Montana,” St. Vincent Healthcare Diabetes Nurse Educator, Megan Howard, said in a prepared statement. “Jane is known for providing countless hours of service to facilitate diabetes awareness and programs for individuals living with diabetes in Montana.”

Fitch Danielsen has served as a Certified Diabetes Educator for more than 30 years and is dedicated to diabetes prevention within the Billings community and beyond.

“Jane respects all patients and families,” Howard said in prepared statement. “She emulates a positive environment for all colleagues.”

The Montana Diabetes Educators Network is affiliated with the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
