I’ve worked under the greasy thumb of the Federal Communication Commission since 1976. FCC is a four-letter word. Okay, it’s a three-letter abbreviation, but it makes one want to use four-letter words. For once in its inept history, the FCC didn’t blow an important decision. FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler announced support of net neutrality under Title II. This means and all information on the Internet must move at the same speed regardless of the size of the provider or user. The Internet has had net neutrality since its creation. Many of my fellow conservatives stubbornly object to net neutrality, mistakenly believing it interferes with the free market. Big providers like AT&T and Comcast may fight this decision because these companies want to interfere with the free market by increasing rates while lowering quality of service. I’m E. Curtis Johnson. For once in its pathetic existence, the FCC acted like the impartial referee it is supposed to be, rather than the bought and paid for crocked official it usually is.
