The Gazette reports that Wibaux County Attorney Ronald Efta has pleaded not guilty to obstructing a peace officer after Billings Police used a stun gun on him for resisting arrest at a downtown bar last week. Officers arrived at the Montana Brewing Company the night of November 27th after a report of a man causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Efta, who has served for 38 years as the top prosecutor in the small Eastern Montana county, was allegedly “screaming across the bar at employees” when officers arrived. When he was told to leave, he became upset and wanted to know who had called police about his behavior. He resisted and was tased when officers escorted him out of the bar. He was taken to Yellowstone County Detention. Efta had no comment about the incident on Thursday.
