The Whitefish Montana Police Department is investigating an incident at a park where several children were taken to a hospital after someone used pepper spray on the children’s playground and in the bathrooms.  According to Whitefish Police Assistant Chief Bridger Kelch, the call was received at around 10 a.m. Thursday after kids started exhibiting adverse reactions to the pepper spray on the playground’s recreational equipment at Riverside Park.  KTVQ.com reports that some children were taken to the hospital, but there were no major injuries reported among them.

The park was opened once again on Friday afternoon after all the pepper spray residue was completely removed.  Parent Monica Taynor said she was concerned after what happened, but decided to let her kids use the playground again.  The Whitefish Parks and Recreation Department cleaned the park twice following the incident.
