Vice President Mike Pence will tour the Westmoreland Coal Company’s Absaloka Mine on the Crow Indian Reservation today.  The White House announced Thursday that Pence would tour the mine and visit with business, energy and tribal leaders before attending a rally for House candidate Greg Gianforte.  Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and Republican U.S. Sen. Steve Daines will join Pence on the tour of the coal mine.

There is some uncertainty about whether the vice president will be available for questions from the Montana news media, following President Donald Trump’s direct contradiction of the explanation for FBI Director James Comey’s firing– allegedly his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation– which Pence spent several days advancing.  The Gianforte rally is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the MetraPark Pavilion.  Pence will deliver his remarks before leaving Montana tonight.
