HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A 26-year-old man from Vaughn died after crashing his motorcycle on Flood Road south of Great Falls.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the man was traveling too fast when he approached a right-hand turn at about 9 p.m. Sunday. The motorcycle crossed into the opposite lane and went off the road. The driver laid the biker over and slid, striking a metal gate and wooden post.

The patrol says he was pronounced dead at a Great Falls hospital.

The man's name hasn't been released.
