Donald Trump Jr. came to Billings to campaign for Republican congressional candidate Greg Gianforte in his race against Democratic nominee Rob Quist in the May 25th special election to replace Montana’s lone congressman Ryan Zinke, who is now President Trump’s Secretary of the Interior.  KTVQ.com reports that Trump Jr. was the last speaker at Friday night’s campaign rally for Gianforte at Billings’ Red Lion Hotel & Convention Center.  U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, Republican Superintendent of Public Instruction Elsie Arntzen and Gianforte also spoke.

Trump Jr. said his passion for the outdoors is part of the reason he’s campaigning for Gianforte.  There were about 450 people in attendance Friday night, with many demonstrators outside the Red Lion to protest Trump’s visit.  Meanwhile, Quist is anticipating Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders’ visit to Montana to help with his campaign in May.
