Acting Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) William Perry Pendley took to the opinion page of The Denver Post to highlight his strong record of defending Western interests. He also reaffirmed the Trump Administration's opposition to selling or transferring federal land.

Recently, Pendley joined us on our statewide radio show- Montana Talks with Aaron Flint- for an exclusive interview. (Full audio is below)

Here's an excerpt from his piece in The Denver Post:

Contrary to characterizations by the press regarding my career, in leading a nonprofit, public-interest law firm based in Colorado, I represented those left behind when the tourists depart: the men, women, families, and communities that ranch, log, mine, explore for energy, or otherwise must depend on the federal lands that surround them.

President Trump’s embrace of a true conservation ethic is some of the best news for the West since Reagan, whom I likewise served, and who quelled the Sagebrush Rebellion in 1981. I am honored to serve Trump and Secretary Bernhardt and look forward to implementing our dynamic stewardship of America’s public lands.

In case you missed it, Acting Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Director William Perry Pendley joined us on Tuesday's Montana Talks statewide radio show with Aaron Flint.

Perry talked about moving more BLM jobs back West- including Billings, Montana.

He also addressed critics on the Left who claimed that he would seek to transfer federal land back to the states. He said, as a Marine, that he knows where his orders come from- the commander in chief. And the commander in chief has made it clear- there will be no wholesale transfer of federal lands to the states.

We also got his take on the American Prairie Reserve and concern from ranchers in Montana that the environmental organization, funded by out-of-state and foreign billionaires, is trying to boot Montana ranchers off the land.

William Perry Pendley has been a strong advocate for Western interests going back to the Reagan Administration in the 1980's. And now, he's filling the top role as the Acting Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

On Tuesday's Montana Talks, Aaron Flint is back in the saddle after being gone for annual military training and will be joined by Acting Director Pendley. We'll cover a lot of ground- from draining the swamp and bringing more of the federal land management jobs back West, to the highly controversial American Prairie Reserve, and more.
