Montana Governor Greg Gianforte appeared on KGVO’s Talk Back show and provided listeners with his monthly update.

Senator Jon Tester released his weekly Facebook Live program called ‘Flat Top Headlines’ on Monday in which he answered several selected questions from viewers.

Governor Gianforte wrote of the bipartisan support for the pipeline, including Democratic Governors Steve Bullock and Brian Schweitzer. "I was disappointed that you signed an executive order today to halt its construction," said Gov. Gianforte.

The ACLU of Montana filed a lawsuit Thursday in state District Court in Helena against the Department of Emergency Services and the Division of Criminal Investigation.

The pipeline would transport up to 830,000 barrels (35 million gallons) of crude oil daily from western Canada to terminals on the U.S. Gulf Coast.

President Donald Trump issued a presidential permit for the line in March in a bid to avoid another unfavorable court ruling.

Opponents contend it would make climate change worse by increasing fossil fuel consumption.

Attorneys for the Northern Plains Resource Council, Sierra Club and other groups filed the latest lawsuit against the $8 billion tar sands pipeline in Montana, where they’ve previously won favorable rulings in related cases.

Plans to begin construction of the long-delayed pipeline got blocked last November when a federal judge in Montana ordered additional environmental reviews of the project.

The Northern Plains Resource Council was one of the environmental groups that sought help from the federal courts in stopping the $8 billion Keystone Oil Pipeline, and Judge Brian Morris obliged, stopping the project with a federal court order on Thursday
