The Fort Peck Summer Theatre in Fort Peck, Montana is definitely a hidden gem in Northeastern Montana. I got to be there for opening night of Roald Dahl's "Matilda."
The 40-ish year old Marine Corps veteran spent six months on the river (a total of 175 "paddle days") to reach the ocean from Montana. We originally interviewed Amanda Hoenes last spring, and since then she's published a captivating book about her epic journey.

Since I get to be in Glasgow for Veterans Day, that means I also have the great honor of hosting our statewide radio talk show from my home VFW Post earlier that same morning! As an Iraq, Afghan veteran I am also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. While my home is in Billings, my home VFW Post is in Glasgow (the Fort Peck Post).
Experts say the fossil was found by a family camping near the Fort Peck Reservoir and has been loaned to the Smithsonian Institution in the District of Columbia for the next 50 years.
