A suspect has been arrested in a fatal shooting in Lake County.

Sheriff and Coroner Don Bell said Friday that 30-year-old Matthew Adam Posey Darnell of Polson was shot several times in Pablo just before 10 p.m. Thursday.

Darnell was taken to the hospital in Polson, where he died of his injuries. His body was taken to the state crime lab in Missoula for an autopsy.

Bell said the suspected shooter, 29-year-old Daniel Chance Blixt, was arrested on suspicion of deliberate homicide and was being held in the county jail. It was unclear if Blixt has an attorney.

Pablo is located on the Flathead Indian Reservation between Missoula and Kalispell.
