More than 800 Billings kids will receive a backpack full of school supplies, thanks to The Salvation Army.  With donations from Cenex Zip Trip, Spectrum and The Washington Foundation, The Salvation Army is able to provide K-12 students with school supplies before they go back to class.  Trish Simeroth with The Salvation Army in Billings said they keep a reserve so that throughout the year, if somebody comes in, they can get them one.  Last year they gave about 300 backpacks throughout the year.

The Salvation Army unit in Billings will also be handing out backpacks and other school supplies at an event at North Park on Saturday.  You can also find their booth at MontanaFair inside the Montana Pavilion until Saturday, August 19th, where they will continue handing out supplies throughout the week, or go to; billings.salvationarmy.org.
