A rumored threat had Skyview High on high alert earlier this week, according to Billings Police Chief Rich St. John.  After rumors of the threat to “do some shooting” at Skyview High sparked some concerns, Billings police reportedly determined that there was no credible threat to students or staff.  The Billings Gazette reports that police arrested three juveniles on Tuesday for stealing guns and ammunition, but determined that the incident was unrelated to the rumors at Skyview.

Chief St. John said on Wednesday that a fight between students last week resulted in suspensions and scheduled youth court hearings for both students; after the fight, school staff heard a rumor that one of the students was going to “come back to Skyview and do some shooting.”  A school resource officer determined that the student did not have access to weapons.
