Rescue Mission Limits Shelter Seekers
The Gazette reports the Rescue Mission in Billings will no longer allow intoxicated shelter seekers during periods of cold weather. On those cold nights in year’s past, the mission would open its door to anyone seeking shelter, with the exception of those who had a blood alcohol content of 0.2 or above. But, according to executive director Perry Roberts, the mission will now expect everyone seeking shelter from the harsh Montana weather to be sober. The mission’s Code Blue policy allows them to open their doors to all those seeking protection from inclement weather overnight. But now, those who simply have alcohol on their breath or are intoxicated at any level will not be allowed to stay.
