Yellowstone County prosecutors will start 2017 pushing for quicker sentencing to help low-risk, low-need drug offenders get help sooner. The Gazette reports that the Yellowstone County Drug Intervention Program will handle up to four drug offenders each week who pass a pretrial assessment. The program is also aimed at easing overcrowding at the county jail.
