The developer of a project which includes the state’s tallest building needs more time. The transformative, $165 million One Big Sky Center project’s lead developer, MontDevCo LLC, formally requested an extension of the Memorandum of Understanding with the city to solidify a joint-venture partnership with an undisclosed group.

George “Skip” Ahern Jr. told the city council Monday that they’ve found a financial and development partner for the project, but Ahearn did not identify them The unnamed group would provide the equity and debt financing for the entire One Big Sky Center project that is slated for 2019 in the heart of downtown Billings. Ahearn said the group will not be publicly identified until the agreement is signed between them and MontDevCo. He did not specify why. City officials and leaders of the community have met with the group privately.
