Names Released in Fatal Ravalli County Officer Involved Shooting [AUDIO]

The Montana Department of Justice and Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office have released the names of the deputy and the deceased man involved in last Thursday’s shooting near Hamilton.

The officer involved was Ravalli County Sheriff Deputy Tod Wofford. The deceased is 47-year-old Lonnie Gene Roberts of 808 Cuf Lane.

Deputy Wofford remains on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation into the incident.

At the request of Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman, the Montana Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation is looking into the incident.

Powell County Coroner John Pohle is the coroner on this case. Once the investigation concludes, the case file will be presented to Coroner Pohle and the Ravalli County Attorney for review. A coroner’s inquest will be scheduled and held in Ravalli County.
