14 year-old Keifer Lorenzen of Missoula is a Life Scout right now, but he has his eye on attaining the highest goal in Scouting, Eagle.

Keifer is well on his way with an ambitious Eagle Scout project, building a children's playground at a local church.

"Up at Missoula Alliance Church, were building a children's playground just east of the lower parking lot," Lorenzen said. "It will be fenced all around and there will be swings and a slide. When we came to MAC, they had a huge community and I always had a vision there of a playground outside for kids. I think it would be really nice for the church to have."

Keifer said the playground will have six to eight swings, a slide and ground protection material.

"There will be 160 feet of fencing, so that the children's ministry there can keep track of the children."

Keifer said he's had this idea for quite awhile as he Eagle Scout Project, and has already started raising money, so there'll be no charge to the church.

"It's probably going to cost about $8,000," he said. "I've already visited several businesses in town, and we started a Go Fund Me account, and if you'd like to donate, go to Keifer Lorenzen Eagle Scout Project. "

Keifer says he'll raise the money this winter and hopes to break ground in the spring, then have the project completed by the end of the summer of 2017.

The board at Missoula Alliance Church has approved Keifer's plan, and is proud that he's working so hard to get the children a proper outdoor playground.

Like the Bible says..'You shall rise up with wings..as an eagle.' Go For it, Keifer.
