27-year-old Tyson Lonebear was arrested Wednesday night and taken into custody after being identified as a suspect in the death of 21-year-old Chay Little.  Lonebear was booked into Big Horn County jail on homicide charges just before midnight.  Northern Cheyenne President Llevando Fisher confirmed Lonebear was the suspect in connection to Little’s death.

He said the tribe will extradite Lonebear out of the Big Horn County Jail and hold him at the tribal jail in Lame Deer.  Fisher said Northern Cheyenne schools were locked down yesterday during the hunt for Lonebear.  It has not been decided whether Lonebear will be tried in Tribal court or on the federal level.
Little was stabbed at about 6 a.m. Wednesday outside a home on the reservation next door to his grandparents’ house, across the road from the Littlewolf Capitol Building.  Friends and family of Little said the victim was well liked and that his death seemed senseless.
