35 year-old Jeremiah Kendall is in the Missoula County Jail, held on $75,000 bond for multiple charges of Partner of Family Member Assault.

Court records indicate that in the most recent assault that occurred on June 2, the Libby man allegedly brandished a gun near his girlfriend while they shared a motel room on Expressway in Missoula, then struck her, choked her and elbowed her in the ribs and also threatened to kill her if she reported the assault to anyone. The next morning the motel staff saw her injuries and contacted police, at which point Kendall was arrested.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Andrew Paul explained to Judge Marie Anderson why he asked for such a high bail.

"This is not just his third PFMA, it's actually his fourth," Paul said. "Further, there is a pending criminal matter in Libby with another disturbance between the defendant and the same victim. There is also an order of protection issued by another woman against the defendant. There are indications that the defendant has contacted the present victim at least 21 times. He also is facing charges of assault and escape in Libby, so we ask that you set bail at $75,000 due to the extreme risk to the community and the victim in this case."

Judge Anderson set bail at $75,000, and remanded him to the jail. She also ordered Kendall to have no contact with the victim, and if released, to have GPS monitoring so that the victim would always know where he was.

His next court appearance will be June 17 in Missoula.
