Q2 reports crews battled several wildfires on the Northern Cheyenne reservation Monday, sparked by a lightning burst Sunday night. The Buffalo Springs fire was burning actively 3 miles southwest of the Lame Deer powwow grounds. A bulldozer created line around on Monday. The Crow Agency helicopter was assisting. Crews from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Northern Cheyenne tribe and other agencies are cooperating in the effort.
