Lame Deer Assault Victim Hospitalized

An unidentified 30-year-old Lame Deer man has been hospitalized, and his unidentified suspected assailant is in custody following the alleged assault. Travis Burrows of the FBI Field Office in Billings said the assault happened on Sunday morning. The agency issued a press release about the incident on Wednesday morning, as the investigation is ongoing.

The FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs responded to a home in Lame Deer where they found the victim unresponsive, but still alive. Following treatment at the scene, he was taken to a hospital in Billings for medical care. The name of the suspect has not been released, but Burrows said he was arrested by the BIA Northern Cheyenne Police and remains in their custody as of this morning. The investigation is ongoing and Burrows said no additional details will be released at this time.
