It rises.....the $5 million walking bridge that will help connect biking and walking trails from Missoula to Hamilton is almost in place over South Reserve, just off Brooks.

This photo, taken at just after 3:00 a.m. shows the span that will cross South Reserve sitting on the road connected to two huge cranes, as they prepare to put the bridge in place.

South Reserve has been closed during the overnight hours from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for the past few days to put the bridge in place.

According to Ellen Buchanan, director of the Missoula Redevelopment Agency, the span is removable, so that a large load that would require the use of Reserve Street could pay for the removal of the span, and to put it back in place.
