Helena Man Charged With Attempted Arson

A Helena man has been charged with attempted arson after he allegedly tried to set his house on fire with six people inside, including three children.  Police say a witness called 911 Sunday at 8:15 p.m. saying Christopher Allen Johns was trying to burn his house down.

40 year old Johns, 40, was experiencing a mental health crisis when he got into an argument earlier in the day with other members of the household.  Two adults in the house took action and held down Johns until police got there.  Those two are being credited with saving the lives of six people including their own.
