Have you ever shot an AR-15? It's really not a scary weapon at all. If you've never fired one before, you'd probably quickly realize that your other hunting rifles and shotguns actually have a much more powerful kick to them.

That's why I got a pretty good laugh when this Helena liberal spoke in support of Gov. Steve Bullock's (D-MT) semi-automatic weapons ban, and called the AR-15 a "weapon of war."

But it really got funny when I called him out on it, and then he went in to a complete meltdown. He even went so far as to suggest that I was simply eating Cheetos while others went to war. (He obviously had zero clue that I've served in Iraq, Afghanistan)

For those who don't know who Josh Manning is: he lost a race for the Montana Legislature and his step-mom worked for Gov. Bullock as his chief of staff (she now apparently works for the National Wildlife Federation). Therefore, he conveniently shows up as a "vet for Tester" in Sen. Jon Tester's (D-MT) campaign commercials. Earlier this year he defended Tester's trashing of Iraq war veteran/Navy Admiral Ronny Jackson. Manning went so far as to beg CNN to interview him on TV, and took a swipe at VFW members in the process.

By the way- open invite for Josh Manning to join us on the radio if he ever wants to chat. I'm a big fan of dialogue and conversation. Montana Talks is live from 6A-10A in Billings. The call in number is 406-294-0970. We go statewide from 9-10AM. Tune in anytime by downloading our Newstalk 955 smart phone app.

(Post was updated on 8/23/18 to reflect that Stone-Manning is the step-mom of Josh Manning and that she no longer works for Bullock)
