Former Broadwater Elementary School principal Joe Halligan will likely be tapped to be the first headmaster  of Ben Steele Elementary next school year.  Halligan served as principal at Broadwater until he took a position as assistant principal at Will James Middle School.  Halligan successfully managed a multi-year renovation project along with other school responsibilities.
School District 2 Superintendent Terry Bouck will reportedly recommend Halligan to school trustees, who hold the ultimate hiring authority.  Bouck said in an email that while principal at Broadwater and associate principal at Will James, Halligan was focused on creating a safe, supportive and empowering environment for students, staff and parents.  The interview team consisted of about 10 teachers, administrators and parents.  The group selected six semi-finalists, which were narrowed down to Halligan and Billings Catholic Schools administrator Tim Lowe.
