Flags Ordered at Half Staff

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — The flags on public buildings in Montana have been lowered to honor the victims of the shooting in Virginia Beach.

Gov. Steve Bullock has ordered that flags be kept at half-staff through sunset on Tuesday in keeping with a proclamation issued by President Donald Trump in response to Friday’s shooting that left 12 people dead.

In his proclamation on Saturday, Bullock said the country can’t “normalize” such shootings and must work together to make them stop. The Democratic presidential hopeful noted that it was the sixth time since the school shooting in Parkland, Florida last year that the president has asked him to lower flags for a mass shooting.
