Jeremy Mayhew and Nic McKinley from the DeliverFund spoke on Montana Talks about their endeavor to assist police to locate and catch human traffickers.  The scope of this epidemic is infuriating. Between 2005 and 2010, this illegal activity had ballooned nearly 900%.  Each year in the U.S., an estimated 100,000 children, mostly teenage girls, are trafficked into the sex trade.

Let that number sink in...100,000. That is nearly three times the number of people who die as a result of the flu each season, and the national news runs with it every year.

These girls are daughters, granddaughters, stalked online by these monsters.

We fuss over every damn political comment or tweet, devote airtime to useless sniping. Meanwhile, our children are preyed upon by the very worse among us. And according to Mayhew and McKinley, these are almost all born Americans preying on American girls for a sex trade used by Americans!

If this is enraging you like it is me, then support the DeliverFund and other agencies addressing this social cancer. DeliverFund is the “posse” that uses technology, the same the traffickers use, to help law enforcement locate and build a case against these criminals. The link is included here and signing up for their e-newsletter takes all of twenty seconds. I know because I did it.  Donating all of a minute or two.

On Friday, August 9, DeliverFund’s 3rd Annual “Fire and Whiskey Benefit” will take place in Whitefish.  Link for the details is here. Jamie Foxx will be the emcee. If you agree with their mission and want a worthwhile road trip, saddle up.

Traffickers and their victims are very mobile and time is essential.  It’s time we make them a priority. Let’s give the DeliverFund the ammo and horses they need.
